Attitude, Smattitude

We had a new dog come over to play yesterday. Her name is Lexi. She is a 3 year old pit bull mix. We’d heard she had quite the attitude. Attitude, smattitude. I can handle anything…I thought. She showed up and was a spitfire right out of the gate. Her Mom and Dad kept her on a leash. Once we thought we’d all be able to play we went to the backyard and all ran around. I ran up to her like I do with all dogs but she didn’t like that. :( Guess that isn’t the way to make friends with all dogs. She ran growling full force at me and I started crying and rolled over. She jumped on top of me and grabbed my neck. All the humans ran over and pulled us apart. I know. I know. I cried. I admit it. But I am still a puppy learning the ropes. It happens. Daphne and I were scared the rest of the day of her but it was good training. Lexi’s parents are teaching her that isn’t the way to make friends and we are learning you can’t approach all dogs the same.

Um...Mom...I know it is my job to protect the family but...um...maybe this once I could hang out behind you.

Daphne - be careful - are you sure you want to play with this pup?

She looks innocent and cute.

But she has a keen eye...

Wish there would have been an easier way to learn. :( That less was scary!
