This post showcases one of the fundamental differences between my sister and I. I will demonstrate by requesting that Dad mow the lawn. Oh what a difference a mother makes (for those of you new readers Daphne and I are half brother and sister - we have the same dad but different Moms - you can check it all out in our family tree on our about us page).
When I see the family spring into action to get a job done I jump right in. Sometimes the fam doesn’t view my help as well…helpful. So we learned this trick from K9 Cops Officer Harrison and K9 Sully. Basically I get a toy and chew on it while helping with whatever task is happening. This way I don’t bite and bark at, say, the lawnmower or the vacuum.
See for yourself…
Here is Daphne while I intimidate the beast. Thanks for all your help scaredybear.
The front yard is more the danger zone so I had to really be on my paws - prove myself that I was tough shizzle to the lawnmower. By the time we mowed the backyard I had really intimidated the lawnmower and just had to keep it in check.
Here is Daphne while I work my tail off…(mom as well not exactly sweatin’ it out!)
Sometimes it is tough to believe that we are related! This girl needs some work ethic! SHEESH!

Happy Monday! We hope you all had a great weekend. We spent Saturday at VIR for the Bosch 250 Rolex Race.

It was so hot though! We had to do what we had to do stay cool. The ground in the shade was cool so I put my tum tum on it. Mom also put nice cool water on us and that helped a lot!

It sealed the deal for us that the itty bitty was ok in our book when we saw he liked to play with stuffies too!!!!

Saturday is a hugely special day. It is our Dad's birthday. We are headed to Virginia International Raceway for some RACIN'. WOOHOO! Perfect for his birthday. We thought we'd do something special to show how much we love him. Here it goes.

You want ME to play ball! BOL! I don't play ball. Especially not all alone. I don't care if individual time is important! I WANT MY BROTHER AND DAD back! AND I DON'T CARE IF I SOUND LIKE A BABY FACE! I WANT THEM NOW!
In other news that doesn’t include me being abandoned by my family…
We got the lovely award above from Honey the Great Dane and Ziggy Marley on the same day. Thank you, Honey & Ziggy! For this award, we have to tell everyone why we love blogging so here we go:
We love to share our adventures with the world and read how other pups grow and learn in the human world. It makes us feel connected and part of a larger family. We especially love seeing pictures and videos of all our animal and human friends.
We would like to pass this award on to:
Cooper, Gwen and Carolyn at Just Me & My Dogs
Lindsay at That Mutt
Cocoa and Barley at The 2 Mighty Beans
Lucie and Addie of Raising Addie
And we got voted for the Blog of the Day Awards and should be featured on April 25th!
Don’t forget to vote for your favorite 3 pup pics today - just go to the sidebar and pick your pups!
AND don’t forget about the forum. We just posted the book for May (Merle’s Door) and have some suggestions for the summer months posted. Feel free to post on whatever topics you like and make suggestions for anything you’d like to see added. We love to hear from you.

We want to say thank you to allof our readers, new and old, who follow our adventures. We’ve got many more to come so we’ll hope you’ll keep reading.
Don’t forget to vote in the contest. Only 8 days left!
Also, check our Cooper’s blog for pics of our brother Argus. He makes Daphne look like a minishep!
We had a fun playdate. A German Shepherd named Sophie had her Canine Good Citizen Test yesterday. This is her. She’s 3 years old.

Her mom thought it would be a good idea to have her come over and play to get some energy out before her test. I met her when I was just a little pup but this was Daphne’s first encounter. I made sure to keep a close eye on things just in case…the dumbear can be a bit spastastic around new animals.
During our first meeting we both ran and played and shouted - Sophie and I are both quite vocal beasts. So the ‘rents expected that we’d all do the same again. Plus, Daphne and I can be very energetic and wary of new dogs. So they keep a close eye on us. I mean what else are we supposed to do. Pups could be a threat. We have to be on our paws.
But I’m older and wiser now. I recognize a German Shepherd when I see one. No show here. We all just did our sniffs hello and hung out. Played some ball. I let Sophie get it. I’m such a gentleman.
Daphne grew a pair and decided to steal the ball for herself. So out of character. The extra female in the yard must have boosted her confidence! She still doesn’t look too sure about her decision if you ask me.
All this playing though sure did make us thirsty. It just keeps getting warmer here. Sophie didn’t quite get the concept of drinking out of the water bowl. Maybe her paws were hot.
Sometimes she doesn’t act so ladylike. Sheesh woman - wipe your chin! I know I’m sexy but we are front of the folks.
I have other methods for water consumption. You’ve got to be efficient.
But I don’t think Sophie was too impressed.
It was a fun (if uneventful by my folks standards) afternoon! And the great news - Miss Sophie passed her test! WAY TO GO! Look at her smile - I think she knew she could do it. She just wanted to see her Mom sweat it out!
Let us know if you have passed or are considering taking your K-9 Good Citizen Test!
And don’t forget to vote over there to the right!

It is important to pay attention to the details - and analyze things closely. Nose to the patio stone.

I take sentry duty seriously. You've got to keep an eye on the property. As you can tell, Pruett is usually preoccupied. I make sure to keep us safe.

I have to show potential intruders how serious and tough I am. You know you'd be scared!
A jumping montage to wish you all a HAPPY FRIDAY!
Have a great weekend! What are your plans?
Head on over to Norwood Unleashed. He’s got a call for photos for his Bandanna Bonanza Project.
