We drove out to Kure Beach near Wilmington, NC for a fun Saturday surf session. There are complicated restrictions regarding what beaches allow dogs at what time of year. So we had to do some research but found this place that allows us until the end of March. Off leash is “ok” as long as no one is looking.
We had such an awesome time! I think we had more fun than Mom and Dad though. Could have been the fact that Pruett threw a big puppy tantrum (which I thought was super funny but the ‘rents didn’t look too amused) or it could have been the fact that Pruett peed in the back of the car…twice…on the trip home or maybe when he pooped in the water as people started to approach and the poo was crashing up against him in the waves. I tried to tell him that he couldn’t drink the whole ocean, but he just didn’t believe me! And you have to admit - the ocean sure does look like a big toilet! Fish poop in there! Why can’t we???
There were so many fun photos that we can’t possibly put them all in one post. This first photo series will highlight Pruett’s body surfing skills.

The wave approaches. Pruett watches and SWIMS toward it! Are you crazy boy? You see me running away. YIKES! What will happen?

CRASH!

BOOM! There goes Pruett!

Extreme close up of this "bravery" is needed...

LOL! I can't stop laughing! Silly brother!!!

I was thinking maybe I should go in and help him...

But he washed up with the next wave and seemed A-OK! You'd think he would have learned his lesson...

But he headed right back out to sea!

We went to Carolina Motorsports Park last weekend to see Dad compete in his first race! When we travel we stay in pet friendly hotels and it feels like a vacation. So as a special treat I got breakfast in bed!

The track is in South Carolina so you wouldn’t expect the winter weather we got! More than four inches of snow ended up falling which is a lot for that part of the US. We of course loved it!
Here are some pics from the track:

The gold and blue car is Dad's SpecE30. The other cars shown are his competitors. GRRRRR!

Check out my rockin drool string. You know you are jealous.

Yup - I'm still laughing over the drool!

Pruett is completely mesmerized and in awe of my superior drooling skills.
Way to go Dad! We are so proud of you!

For the 19th consecutive year, the Labrador Retriever is the most popular purebred dog in America, but could this be the last year for the Lab’s reign?
According to American Kennel Club® (AKC) 2009 registration statistics released today during a press conference at Grand Central Terminal in New York City, the German Shepherd Dog overtook the Yorkshire Terrier last year and is now ranked second most popular in the nation for the first time in more than three decades.
GO GSDs!

The wrath of a white shepherd…
Bark/Bury
We rarely get snow during the winter months in North Carolina. Usually our days are filled with gray skies that if we were just a few hours north, would deliver a white winter wonderland. But instead we usually see rainy days and muddy yards (and floors). This weekend we awoke to to our favorite site - SNOW! Of course we had to celebrate with our favorite snow play buddies - Tyson and Maddie. Did anyone else get winter weather this weekend?
