So now that things have settled down I have a chance to write about the weekend. Vera Lynn, my husky girl friend, brought my Uncle Jimmy and some friends over for the weekend. Below are some pics of how Saturday went.
You can see lots of pics from this weekend at: http://tiger-bear.com/videos/pruett/
All videos from Saturday and Sunday start with “10weeks”
BEACH ~ I’ve been so busy the last few days. Aunt Kara left on Sunday and I wanted to make sure I got some good quality time in with her. We both had our first real beach trip together! It was a blast. That water is a little bit scary but Aunt Kara showed me how to be brave. I even got my feet wet! She is much braver than I am and went all the way in the water. I miss you Aunt Kara!
The water is so funny. It chases you, then runs away then does it all over again.
Sneaksy water! I wasn’t quite quick enough to play its game.
The sand and sea water sure did turn me into a messy puppy! Running in that sand is tiring too! If I kept up a workout routine on the beach I could be next Baywatch hunk!
WALKSY WALKSY ~ I had my first big boy walk today. I’m not too sure all about my collar and leash. It seems to put the squash on my free spirit but Mom and Dad could seem to care less about free spirits. And since they make the rules I had to walk with my leash and collar on. I did my best. We went to the stop sign and back. I did ok. I started out strong but started to get a little grumpy at the end. I’ll get the hang of these walks soon enough.
I didn’t realize how tiring they’d be. Mom and Dad whispered something as I was falling asleep - sounded like “finally” followed by a sigh.
How Much is That Puppy in the Mirror ~ There is another puppy living in my house! I thought I only had kitteh friends but it turns out there is a puppeh friend too. He lives in the office which is kind of weird. And he looks just like me which is also kind of weird. And…he barks when I bark and moves when I move…
Oh…I get it.
I guess I don’t have another puppeh friend living in this house.
Other updates ~ I think my ears are going to come up soon. I can’t wait to look like real GSD. People get so confused when they see me - they can’t figure out what I am and most are pretty convinced Mom and Dad have stolen a bear cub and are trying to train him to be a house pet.
I’m doing a lot better in my crate. I spent my first day in there while the ‘rents went to work. Luckily we got to eat lunch together. I didn’t really want to go in after lunch but Daddy said I didn’t have a choice. (aka he tricked me with treats and shut the door behind me before I knew what happened) They are going to try have me sleep in bed with them tonight instead of my crate where I’ve been sleeping. I’m going to try my HARDEST to be a good puppy and let them know when I need to go out. Sometimes I forget.
My daddy said it best tonight - I’m just a little man trying to figure out the world.
Good Night Everyone!
Wow! Today was filled with excitement! I climbed the stairs for the first time on my own today. Funny thing about going up stairs is that you have to come back down. The latter proves to be a lot more difficult than the former. I’ll get the hang of it though. For now I just scream for Mom and Dad when I get stuck in the middle.
Deuce and I are continuing to become friends. We are both a little unsure of each other but grow more confident every day. We’ll be snuggling together in no time. We share my toys. I’m good at sharing. I think she likes them more than me. Especially Otter. She throws him around and attacks him! YIKES! Glad I’m not that Otter. :/ She’s started to taunt me by batting at me but is nice and doesn’t use her claws. It is our new game.
Mom and Dad were so happy with me last night. I slept from 11pm to 6am without needing to go outside to go potty! I also had some more practice staying in my crate today. I’m getting more and more relaxed in it. When Mom and Dad got home I was still sound asleep and they had to wake me up.
I’ve made a new friend! Her name is Deuce. She is a 5 month old kitteh that also lives with my parents. I know that it seems strange for a doggy and kitteh to be friends but this will be so much fun! She runs and I chase her and she runs and we play some more. She comes and finds me so that I can chase her. What a tease! She knows I can’t run up the stairs so she runs up them and sits just three stairs from the bottom. I bark for her to come down and play and she just smiles. Then when I’m not looking she runs down and runs through the kitchen to the dining table. Where again I can’t reach her. So I bark and then she runs back to the stairs. And back and forth and back and forth.
This sure is going to wear a puppy out! But it is so much fun. She is a brave kitteh to make friends with a puppy, but I’m so glad she has - now we can be one big happy family! There is another kitteh that lives in this house named Orangy. He is still very scared of me and hides upstairs. I wish he’d come out and play too!

I spent my first night in my crate last night and oh was it miserable! Why in the world would I want to lay in that crate versus the nice, soft, cozy bed with Mom and Dad. Oh how I cried but they didn’t give in. Mom and Dad are as stubborn as I am. I even think I heard them giggle at my cries. I tried every sort of scream but it didn’t work. Sometimes I pretended I was being attached. Then I tried attacking the crate. Then I tried straight up super sad puppy cries. I tried crying like a baby. Eventually though I was just too tired to continue and had to rest up to start the process all over again in a few hours.
