When we go on these hikes everything is so quiet and still. That isn’t really our style. We decided to mix it up a bit. This nature business was BORING!

My Dad Showing Through

So today is Mother’s Day and we want to say HI and WE LOVE YOU to all the mom’s and grandma’s in our lives and yours!

But as promised…I have to show you what I’ve inherited from my Dad, as last post I showed you what traits I’ve got from my mother.

Here is a picture of my Dad (he’s Daphne’s Dad too!). His name is Doc. He lives at Patchwork Shepherds where Daphne and I were born.

Well look what I’ve got going on now. At first just thought maybe I had some of Daphne’s fur in mine. But oh noes. This is actually growing from my fun lovin’ head! DO YOU SEE?!

OH NOES! Contest Winner Correction

We did some digging into our contest an noticed a discrepancy with our first place winner. We observed that Cody received a LOT of votes in the final two days of the contest. Upon further investigating by our IT department it was uncovered that all those votes came from the same few computers. We ask that no one cheat upon voting or entering further contests.We don’t know which of Cody’s fans is responsible - there are many of them out there as he is one awesome pup, but nonetheless, we want to make sure that all is fair. We’ll figure out a new voting system for our next contest so no pups need to worry.

We need to crown a new champion in the contest.

Waldo is our first place winner.

We Almost Melted

Florida was a blast but DOG OH DOG - IT SURE IS HOT! HOT! HOT! They said this wasn’t even summer yet. It felt like summer to us. I think we might melt here if it gets close to that hot. Oh noes!

Thats better! The air in Florida sure did smell different. Maybe all the smells get caught in the water in the air. You can hardly breath in this humidity.

Daphnebutt was going for ultimate aero mode. Its vacation! Don't worry about it!

Ok. I guess she knows how to have fun. What a silly bear!

On this car ride we were driving out toward the beach. We didnt go all the way because the people in Florida dont let us pups on their precious beaches. But we got to see some cool wildlife.

Check it out. An alligator! Do you see? We wanted to get out and play. Mom and Dad didnt think it was a good idea though. They are NO FUN!

This is an alligator trail. They sure do wander around like they are drunk!

A BIRD! This one we really wanted to make friends with. AGAIN the BORING grown ups said no. LIVE A LITTLE!

And check out this furry dude! Supposedly there were going to be a MILLION of these at Grandmas. But we got there and nada. We saw this devil at the gas station. Grandma said we scared them all away. She is hoping that she can get cutouts made of us and stick them in the yard. She says squirrels and gardens dont mix. After the running around we did in her backyard I have a feeling she thinks GSDs and gardens don't mix.

HOPPY EASTER!

We are headed to Florida this weekend to visit my Grandma and Great Grandpa (my mom’s family) for the Easter holiday. Mom said that there is an Easter Bunny who will hide eggs and we get to search the yard for them. When we find them we let her know and we get a special treat inside! WOOHOO! Sounds pretty awesome to us! It is a long car ride - about 9 hours. We’ll make sure to take some awesome pics from our first trip to Florida! Maybe we’ll get to go to the beach. I hear it is really hot there. Like 90 degrees! OH NOES! I hope we don’t melt.

There was something amiss outside two nights ago. I barked out the window to wake up Mom and Dad but they just told me to hush. I barked and GROWLED and still all I got was a hush. I pooped on the floor. That seemed to work. They jumped from the bed! Neat trick.

Lemonaid

Daphne reporting in. We had a great time this weekend. Sadly Dad’s car didn’t make it through the weekend. OH NOES! Even the best lemonaid couldn’t revive her. We had a great time though and he kicked some tail out on the track before the car went sour. Figured you might like a picturific post with highlights of the event and our new friends! Hope you all had a great weekend.

Pruett is getting big too. At least his head is. I think it is filled with rocks.

Here is some proof that his head is indeed full o’ rocks. He is trying to fool you into thinking he is a race car driver. A driver that can go fast. But if you will notice he is not in the car nor actually moving. Those ears don’t fool anyone!

We did a lot of walking around.

And a lot of sitting around. There were lots of people and noises and strange smells.

We did good on Friday and Saturday. But by Sunday morning we were beat. Not quite as beat as this car though. Poor car.

We get cranky when we are tired and sometimes our ears don’t work well. Do any of you have problems hearing when you get tired? Do you think we should see a doctor?

We tried napping but it didn’t help. Still tired.

We even tried snuggling up with Mom. But we were still pretty worn out.

Maybe I just need someplace more comfy. I look like I’m losing my mind a little bit. That is what happens when you don’t get enough sleep!

This should do. Why should I have to lay in the dirt?!

This is the way to hang out at the track. Oh yeah!

Now to our pup friends:

This is Brooke. She is super soft and super sweet. She is a only a few months older than we are!

This is Lexie. You may remember she came to our yard and had the nerve to try to rough us up. Well we are bigger now. And she has been practicing her manners for sure. We all got along pretty well. The humans kept us on leashes just to be safe though. No trust!

There was even another GSD at the track. He was super friendly. We found out that he was rescue dog. It seemed he’d found himself a good forever home.

This is Mars. He is a regular at the track with us. He is the quiet and reserved type. I think he thinks he is wiser than us young pups. You’ll here him sigh and see him shake his head. Loosen up Mars! Have some fun!

Mars left before we took this group photo. Here are the pups and one of Dad’s teammates in front of the car. It was a fun weekend but we were really happy to go home. This was our first adventure away from home without any crates. Free pups for the weekend. And we did great! No problems at the hotel - slept sound and snorry right on the floor. And when we needed a break and it was cool enough - we just hopped right in the back of the truck. Guess we are growing up!

Everyone really loved the bandannas mom made! They were a big hit!
