- Me on my new bed!
Pruett and I got new beds for Christmas. They are called Cool A Roo dog beds. They are super strong and comfy. They are elevated just a bit so that you don’t get too hot. Pruett was a little scared to get on it at first but I jumped right on. Check me out! We threw a link up over to the right in case you are interested in having your human get you one.

I introduced Daphne to my friends Tyson and Maddie last night. They ran right up to us when we got to their house but for me and Daphne that was a bit scary! They are big dogs! Daphne yelped and yelped - you would have thought they were attacking her but she quickly adjusted to them and we all got to run around the big yard and play! Daphne is still figuring out how to play (ok I admit - so am I). We tend to bark and herd more than we can figure out this fetch game with a ball. Mom and Dad say we really just fetch the other dogs more than the ball. Hopefully we can go play this weekend in the day time so we can get some pictures of us in action! Daphne and I are getting bigger and faster and I think Tyson and Maddie will have a run for their money soon enough!

Rolling around in poop is fun! Unfortunately Mom does not agree. I will have to write more about Thanksgiving after my bath.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

On The Move!
This weekend Mom and Dad thought it would be good for Daphne and I to practice our social and walking skills. We headed to a trail on Duke Campus. It is so much more fun to be outside now that the temperature has dropped!
We got to ride in the back of the Tahoe uncrated for the first time. It was a little confusing at first - I’m used to sitting up front with Mom or being in my crate but this worked out much better. Daphne and I had room to play and stretch our legs.
We decided that 2 miles would be a good distance for the walk. It was starting to get dark (this crazy daylight savings time) so we got on our. This was a much busier trail than we were used to! Hikers, runners, joggers, old people, young people, bears (j/k), OH MY! I wanted to play with everyone that ran by but for some reason most weren’t that interested in me! Daphne was scared of most people (BABY!) but like Mom and Dad say - that is why we go on these walks. There were a lot more inclines that we thought to this trail and Daphne and I got tired a little earlier than expected. I think we were a little overzealous in attempting 2 miles. I hate being tired. I tell the world when I’m tired. I don’t understand why we have to keep walking and why people won’t stop and play.
We finally made it back to the car and went to the Q Shack for dinner - well Mom and Dad did. It smelled so delicious! I wish I was allowed to eat brisket sandwiches!!!!

Our new hydration station!
Mom and Dad painted me a really cool water bowl when I was a puppy. Problem is now that I’ve got a sister and we are both super thirsty! The kittehs also like to drink out of our water bowl so we were having to fill it up constantly (and by we I mean Mom and Dad)! Mom bought us this new 5 gallon water station! It takes some getting used to though. It makes these crazy noises which ALWAYs startle me when I’m drinking. Daphne doesn’t seem to notice and neither do the kittehs. Maybe I’m hearing things???

My friend Jimmy is in town and brought his friend Cy to celebrate Thanksgiving with us and Mom and Dad. Sadly, Vera Lynn couldn’t join us but Grey the GSD is bringing over my Aunt Heather so it will be a fun day!!!!

- Hanging Out at VIR - My First Track Weekend
I had my very first weekend at the track. We went to VIR. Pruett has been several times but this was my first. I was worried about all the new noises and sounds but got there and realized it really wasn’t so bad at all. Let’s start from the beginning.
We left Friday afternoon after working on the car and loading up all afternoon. That was hard work and I thought I deserved a treat. I snuck upstairs to munch on some kitteh fewd. MMMMM! DELICIOUS! Almost as delicious as dirt - but not quite. The drive wasn’t too long but the weather was terrible! It rained all day Friday and for the entire drive. I quickly realized that the kitteh fewd treat wasn’t such a good idea. MENTAL NOTE: No kitteh fewd before going on road trips. I tried everything I could to keep that kitteh fewd in my tummy but it was no use. I made it almost all the way to the track but BLEHK - all over Nugget (our stuffed rooster - I’m sorry Aunt Kara and Mom and Dad and mainly Mom cause you had to clean it all up). It really smelled terrible! I was good to go after that though! We got to the track and unloaded everything and headed to the hotel.
Pruett and I had our first elevator ride. No big deal for us brave GSDs though! We had some dinner and went to bed to rest up for my first full track day.
Sadly the gloomy weather didn’t cease overnight. Saturday was humid and cloudy with threatening skies. The ground was muddy and wet. Pruett and I thought this ground condition was quite fun but for some reason Mom didn’t agree. The wind kept blowing all our gear around so we had to back up our base camp. Our human friend Colin’s tent blew over on Mom, Pruett and I! It was completely wrecked! All the metal was bent like an umbrella turned inside out. The wind was SO CRAZY!!!! After that we decided to stay in our crates for a while until the storm blew through.

Please let me go for a ride with you Dad!!!!
The weather cleared up in the afternoon and we decided it was finally time to stretch our legs, play and explore VIR. Since Pruett had been here before he wanted to show me around. There were so many people! Nearly everyone wanted to stop and say hello to us. They all seemed friendly but I wasn’t too sure. Pruett would run up and greet them all. Maybe he’d met them before? Sometimes I barked and sometimes I just watched from behind Mom. I’m just not the run up and say hello type like Pruett but I do want to be friendly - it just takes me a little longer. Some people wouldn’t give me a long enough chance though so I’d run after them letting them know I was ready to be friends.

Mom was always right there if I got scared.
Sunday brought clear skies and a brisk temperature drop! Pruett and I were thrilled - we were finally comfortable since we always have our winter coats on. We got to play outside all day in the sunshine! I was worried about the noise at the track but it wasn’t so bad. We climbed a set of stairs to a balcony area so we could watch the cars on a long straight away. The noise was really loud up there. Mom let me watch the cars from her lap. Pruett loved to lay at the edge of the balcony and watch the cars ZOOM by. Each time he would watch them come around the corner and then ZOOM and he would continue to watch them down the straight away. Maybe he will grow up to be a race car driver!!!!
I think it will take me a few more of these track events to get used to the noise and people but I sure do think it will be a lot of fun!

My Secret Hide Out in the Bushes - Guess It Isnt So Secret Afterall
Sorry Pruett and I have been so out of touch! Mom went out of town so he and I had to take care of Dad. I wanted to spend a lot of time with my new Mom this weekend and then she had to go out of town again yesterday so again we were babysitting Dad. Mom has been under the weather so when she has been home we’ve also been taking care of her.
Tonight I got my first bath. It wasn’t so bad. Pruett warned me that it would be very horrible and I would
scream and shout for Mom and Dad to stop but it really wasn’t so bad at all. I was a little shaky because I wasn’t sure what to expect but it went by in a flash! Now I’m a clean puppy full of energy. As soon as I was toweled off I started running and playing. These bath things aren’t

Goofing Around on a Sunday Afternoon
so bad at all. Pruett saw how brave I was
in the bath and said he would try to be brave too. I was really proud of him. He only cried a bit (I swore I wouldn’t tell but - oops - hehehehe) and now we get to stay up late to dry off. Not such a bad deal if you ask me.
Mom and Dad let me sleep on the bed which i MUCH prefer over my crate. I’m still a bit crate shy since I was shipped in one - I’m always worried that will be my fate again each time they close that door. I sleep all through the night unlike my brother. He is a FUSS MONKEY! He is always repositioning himself and huffing and puffing around the bed at night. He does just fine in his crate but Mom and Dad say they like to keep the family together
and like for us all to snuggle.
This weekend we are going to VIR. Dad is instructing with the Audi Club North America (ACNA). This will be my first weekend at the track. I’m not sure how I’ll do. Things that you would think would scare me don’t and sometimes I’m frightened by things that the rest of the world doesn’t find so frightening. It should be interesting though. Pruett says it is no big deal but I’m not so sure. Mom promised that she’ll be there for me if I get scared. She is good at giving hugs and making me feel safe.
Pruett and I are great play buddies. We romp around and play fight. He underestimated his little sis. Don’t tell but I can KICK IS PUPPY BUTT!

WOOHOO!
